Inside the Classroom

Classroom Layout

"Have a place for everything and put everything in its place."

Our classroom has vertical, non-permanent surfaces to foster collaboration and taking risks. Making mistakes are learning opportunities!

Daily Workflow
Differentiated Small-Group Instruction
Choice Board
  • Students choose which activity to perform. Red tasks must be done daily. Blue tasks are complementary tasks that have specific learning objectives.

Stations
  • Students work in groups.

  • Each station has a specific learning objective.

  • While students are in stations, the teacher pull specific students to provide Tier II instruction.

  • Some stations that I implement are:

    • Vocabulary (using a Frayer model template)

    • Lesson Videos (to reinforce what they have just learned)

    • Challenge Accepted! (a problem-solving activity)

    • Visual Patterns (sequences activity)

    • Exact Path (personalized instruction)

    • Skills Practice worksheet

    • Interactive Journal
